1 - PLANNING FOR EFFECTIVE INTEGRATED AND DESIGNATED ELD
Presenter: Dr. Nathalie Longree-Guevarra, LEAD Specialist
Looking for ways to deepen your understanding of how to plan for and implement Integrated and Designated ELD? This two-day institute will provide a deep dive into California’s English Language Arts/English Language Development Framework in order to create and expand systemic, intentional, and effective ELD instruction. Important components of Integrated and Designated ELD will be examined, including content, language, sociocultural objectives, differentiated sentence frames, use of graphic organizers, and structured academic language development. Learn the steps for planning and implementing high-quality lessons!

3 - ENSEÑANZA AUTÉNTICA DEL ESPAÑOL: INTEGRANDO LA LECTURA Y LA GRAMÁTICA EN AULAS BILINGÜES

Este instituto ofrece a los docentes de programas de inmersión en español la oportunidad de analizar comparativamente la enseñanza inicial de la lectura en inglés y en español, fortaleciendo su competencia sociocultural. Presenta estrategias basadas en investigaciones, alineadas con los Estándares Estatales de California (CCSS en español) y los Estándares de Desarrollo del Lenguaje en Español. Se modelan lecciones, se exploran recursos culturalmente relevantes y se brindan herramientas prácticas para enseñar gramática, ortografía y convenciones en contextos auténticos.
